First topic message reminder :

Trying again. My first post went spinning off the tracks like a runaway train. Bad Karma? hope not, but maybe two first posts will show up.

I'm John from Ontario. I am going to try a daily greeting thread with this board and see how it goes. Very low key, but sincere, no groundbreaking PD news, just heartfelt encouragement.

My Wife and I drove to Ottawa on the weekend. (250 kms there) Strange city, driving, and restaraunts bring out tremors. We had a great time: visited, had dinners, walked, did museums with my son and wife who live there. Saturday nite we went to an "Irish Pub" and I had a yummy shepherds pie and a bottle of Killkenny. Your beer makes our beer taste like soda pop.

I hope everybody has a good and safe day. Be strong, John

Hi jb,

You didnt really think I'd let that one go did you?

As you don't wish to know, I'll just say its something akin to having gaskets and carburettor removed! Your wife will know what I'm talking about. Thanks for the good wishes anyway.

Good weekend to everyone.. Love Marie xxxxxxxx

Girls and Guys,

I hope you all have a brilliant weekend, wherever you are!
Hope ems is having a great break, and Marie, good luck with your op, I know hospitals can be daunting but im sure you will be grand. I had similar,I think, op a few years ago, and had myself tied up in knots, before hand, but it went fine, and Im sure you will be fine too. I will be thinking of you.

Take care all.

Katie

And so say all of us Lucy........Ems should have landed that plane by now. She"s a woman of unknown talents, the sky is the limit for her! Looking forward to having her back though. Its not until people go away that you realise just how much time and energy they give to the forum and Ems is the best. Hope she has a great time. She definitely deserves it.

Sorry if I appear to be dipping in and out less over the next few weeks but I am somewhat distracted with painters everywhere (all with different size brushes down to 1" literally). Every room in the house is disturbed and I'm beginning to panic cos I can't remember where I put things! On top of that I had my pre assessment for the op today so I hope you understand that I am somewhat preoccupied. Life will return to normal (well as normal as it gets for me) in due course, then I shall be back with a vengeance boring the pants off you all.

Meantime, keep talking to each other and keep well.
Love to all Marie xxxxxxx

At 4 o clock today a big bird flew over our house. I looked up and thought I saw someone waving frantically out the window. I rubbed my eyes It couldnt be could it? But it was. It was Ems on her way to Sweden. I jumped up and down (I have great imagination you know) and waved my special wave just like the Queen. And where do you think she was sitting, oh no not in the normal part of the plane where the likes of me would sit, but there she was in the front seat beside the captain. I shouted in my loudest voice to stop for a chat but she shouted no can do so I shouted

EMS IS GOING ON A LOVELY HOLIDAY
NO MORE FORUM FOR A NIGHT OR TWO
HAVE A REALLY GOOD TIME ON YOUR LOVELY HOLIDAY
YOU DESERVE IT TOO OH YES YOU DO

Have a great time Ems

Hello Ireland, from hot and steamy Florida (miserably hot at the moment). I can't stay long as I am just saying hello while on my lunch break at work. I just wanted to say hi, that's all.

At primary school many moons ago I remember the teacher drumming it into our heads about the Kilkenny cats. I dont know why but it stands out in my mind. Little did I know that years later i would be shouting

HEY UP THE CATS

Hi everybody;

Ems, if I didn't have to clean behind the fridge today, I would of loved to escort you and carry your suitcase for you on your trip to Sweden. Of course it would all be respectable and on the up and up. I would keep you safe from Swedish Kangaroos and help you find your way around. My wife just read this and shackled me to the fridge. SOS SOS SOS

Marie, when that painter arrives to your house, make sure that he has a big brush and rollers or else it will take him ages to complete that job, right Cathy?

Lucy, the translation of Adios Amigos into Irish, according to my book is this "There are no monster upright Rabbits with long tails in Ireland that would sneak up behind you and kick you into a pond and if there were such a creature, it would find itself in the stewpot for supper." It is one of those Spanish Phrases that are quite specific and descriptive.

And I read this "no doubting that Ireland is beautiful and scenic, but Northern Ontario, with the leaves in full colour in the fall, as a loon makes it call from a glass surfaced pristine lake, is beyond compare on the face of this Earth"

Have good days everyone,

jb

Hi everybody hope you are all doing ok, it's a lovely afternoon up here in Donegal.

Ems enjoy your holiday and say hello to everyone from me and dont forget the walls have ears.

Marie seeing that your in the mood for SPRING cleaning you can come up and do mine when your finished.

Cathy just read in the paper that Donegal was voted the 2nd most scenic county in Ireland. Kerry was voted no 1 but I'm sure Kilkenny Waterford Roscommon and Dublin are in there somewhere

ADIOS AMIGOS (I'm sure that means googbye friends)I hope. Smile

Have a great trip EMS. Remember we want a blow by blow account of all the shinannigins! Sweden is one country I havent been to so will be interested to hear what you think.
My news is sooooooooooo boring by comparison. The house is in desperate need of a facelift, so the painter arrives Friday and will spend two weeks sprucing it up. Have spent last two days in loft sorting things out and making trips backwards and forwards to charity shop. Feel absolutely exhausted. Not really looking forward to next two weeks and will be glad when its over.

Hope life is being kind to the rest of the gang. Mustn't forget a warm welcome to Cathy. So pleased things went well for you. Another budding poet, I note.
