Hello Everybody

Well today is St. Patricks Day isn't it. I just wanted to wish a good day to you all on this Special Day in Ireland. In Canada, lots of people are suddenly Irish and they have great parties in Pubs and Irish Club Halls. It is not yet 10 am here so I won't hoist a beer in toast to you and Ireland yet. But I will later today.

I hope that all is well with you,

Best Wishes

jb alien

Hi Ems, JB its been so long since i was on here,  no excuse really,  a bit down it hasn't a great year for me. had a lots of falls, didn't break any bones T G. crashed my car my children would  not let me drive again so i have lost my independance as i live in the country it was a must to have a car. i had been driving 50 yrs accident free.

One fall i had i landed on the top of my fingers , dislocated one and fractured the other, cannot bend them its very uncomfortable, ems i know what your going  through.   i never heard of trigger finger,

Jb it's nice to see you haven't deserted the forum  like the rest of us,  well done.  maybe now that winter is approaching people might get back to posting.

Hi Jb it's always good to hear from you
Hi there.everybody .just back from a skin specialist as the fingers my right hand were locking and painful so she told me i have trigger finger....i am wearing a splint which helps to keep fingers upright, just wondering if anybody has heard of it..it's nothing to do with parkinsons but can be annoying although good thing is splint helps especially in bed..

Anyway take care folks

Hello Everyone, well everyone that reads this.

It has been a hot week. daytime temps are going up to 34 C regularly with little cooloff at night. The humidity is really bad as well. I am sure that I cant handle the heat or cold as well as I did pre parky.

I was babysitting my 5 yr old grandson Charlie last week. We were talking about why I was not going to work anymore. I explained to him that my shaky disease makes it unsafe for me to do construction work anymore. Too dangerous. He then asked if it was too dangerous because the other men may catch the disease from me. Ha, the workings of a young mind..

Have good days, jb

Hello Ireland,

Thanks Lucy and Ems, it is nice that you can get to visit face to face with each other with a bus trip. That must be a roomful of fun and laughter when you get talking.

It has been hot and dry and only this week the rains came and the weather cooled down. In the summer heat we often have loud thunderstorms created by the heat of the day. Too often though the rain will blow around to the north and we stay dry. It all works out though. The grass is greening up again.

I have lots of vegetables now in the garden ready to eat. Tomatoes, potatoes, and everything else is just sitting there or coming to ripe. I give away more than I use myself I think.

Well, I better get myself organized and some work done. I am frustratingly slow on the keyboard now. It seems to take forever to type any message. Oh well, count my blessings.

All the best to all of you, jb

Hi Jb lovely to hear from you..Its hard to imagine the heat you have there when over here it has never stopped raining I think I will pack the flip flops away for this summer.
Myself and my sister went to killkenny a few weeks ago to see Ems and Marie and another friend with pd.
It was a long journey but I dont mind travelling
We left our house at 7.45 in the morning and reached Kilkenny at around 3 o clock that afternoon.
The time went too quickly and all too soon we were at the bus stop catching the bus back home.
But it's good to get out off your usual routine even for a few days.

Good to hear your mum is still getting out and about. Holy smoke the grandkids are coming, nail down the furniture.
Only joking JB I am sure they are great kids

Keep in touch Jb it's always good to hear from you

Thanks Ems,

Hello to everyone.

It has been very hot here in Ontario for the week. Daytime highs are from 85 to 90 F. I don't think us parkys adjust to the hot as easily as we used to. Same with the cold. I can get chilled quite easily in the wintertime cold.

My typing can be atrocious. Many times I get a post ready to put up and then like bad magic, the active screen with my work disappears into the outer galaxies. Or someplace.

I think we all can have blue days Em. Im happy that you had the dbs installed Em. I have talked with some people who have had it and they are happy they had it done. Good for you Em, that is a brave undertaking. You should be proud of yourself.

I must get some work done, Got Mom and a Sister coming in from Kingston for lunch tomorrow. My sister is bringing 2 of my grandboys for a few days. She will pick up my Mom from the manor, and then the 4 of them will be here for lunch. I have to keep Charlie (5) and Tommy (9) for a few days. Should be fun,

Okay, I better get at my untouched job list. Good days to you Em, and everyone else.

Hi lucy. I know that you are not too far away.

All the best to all of you.
jb
Good d

Hello Everyone,

I apologise for my absence.  I just got tired of writing. It was becoming more difficult and I grew lazy.  Please don't think it was because I never cared about you lovely people.  I missed you, but with every week going past, it became harder to come back in.  My PD is worse now, it is harder to type on a keyboard.  Things disappear on me now, not only here, and some days I could toss my laptop into the garbage truck.  but not today.

I hope everyone has been Ok.  Sorry to hear of your problems Clem.  I hope that you are being well attended to.  Em and Lucy, it was nice to see your names on the board.  I hope that your families are well too.

I still grow a big garden.  Too big, but there it is.  I like to eat the fresh vegetables from it.  Uuum. If only I could grow it year round. I don't go to work any more, too dangerous for me, but I do spend a lot of time hoeing and planting and staking up. I call it my therapy.  I feel so much better on the days that I am busy with physical activity.

Exercise is very important for me to keep ahead of Parkinsons.  I know that not everyone can be as active as they wish to be.. The catch 22 makes it bad for many.

I will hit post now.

I hope you all have a good day.

jb

Hi Clem I am really sorry to hear about your latest misfortune .Those big black clouds in the sky don't know when to stop raining on some people. I really thought that
you were back in the costa when you weren't around.
There is nothing happening here Clem so you missed nothing.

Great to hear you are over the worst, but as the saying goes It's hard to kill a bad thing Wink Wink

Look after yourself Clem and take it easy from now on and tha'ts an order

I'm back
what has happened in my absence?
who is still here?
- -
to explain where I was ...
not content with Mr P
and a fall which smashed the vertebrae, I had another visitor
the docs wonders why my spine wouldn't heal - osteoporosis
but why? then they identified my new visitor - Mr C -
The info was hard to cope with and the radiotherapy was worse - I was in a bad place
But - forget all that - especially that radiotherapy.  I'm out the other side
I asked the Doc - who seemed more pleased than I - If I could say that I have beaten cancer? -
- No, all I can say is that I have responded positively to treatment - I'll see him again in 5 months
... anyway I'm back
I'll say this for Cancer, the supports are far better than what is available for Parkinson's
It is - imo - all wrong that people have to fund raise to pay the salary of a Parkinson nurse in Tallagh Hospital
There is some of that on the cancer side, but its for nurses who visit you at home - not for hospital staff
... anyway I'm back
My youngest has flown the nest, three days ago.  Off to Tyoko on a year's contract.
She is excited and delighted. My older girl (married with baby) finally has the keys to their house
(all sorts of legal delays) now there are in - and I'm being collected tomorrow to see the place
... anyway I'm back - It seems that events are turning for the better
now what has happened in my absence?
